Wedgewood Cycling Team held its year end banquet & AGM last
night (December 2, 2006) and Cycling BC's Team of the
Year for 2006 announced a further donation of $5,000
to the BC Cancer Foundation, taking the total raised by the team
so far to over $100'000.
The Team also announced its plans for 2007 which will include
a fundraising raffle in the spring with the grand prize
being a fully equipped Colnago Navigators Pro Cycling Team road
bike to be presented at the Tour de Gastown 2007. The
prize will also include a ride with the team in Vancouver and
a Navigators team kit.
Dates were announced for the three races presented by the Team.
"We are very pleased to be able to donate to the BC Cancer
Foundation again this year, it really is a testament to the hard
work of our members and the generosity of our sponsors,"
explained Philip Meyer a director of Wedgewood Cycling Team. Meyer
not only gave credit to all the team sponsors whom he announced
have all re-signed with the team for a further two years, but
also the race sponsors for all Wedgewood Cycling Team events.
"Quite frankly without these sponsors these types of events
would not be possible in the City of Vancouver. Supporters like
Formwerks Architecture, Stonefield Development, and Navigators
Insurance have all helped with our success this year," Meyer
continued.
