AURELIA ADVENTURES ANNOUNCES NEW DESTINATION AT RISK FOR 2005

Aurelia Adventures announces its Destinations at Risk 2005 trip: Spirit Bear of the Great Bear Rainforest.

The journey will bring adventurers from around the globe to the Central Coast region of British Columbia to view one of Canada's great wilderness icons (with a Prince Rupert departure).

"This once in a lifetime trip promises access to the ecology, Native culture, and of course the elusive Kermode, or Spirit Bear, of which only 300 remain. The habitat of the bears and the ancient lands of the
Git Ga'at First Nation are threatened by logging and resource extraction. Our goal in the Destinations At Risk program is to show our guests areas of great beauty and unique wilderness attributes," said principal Tom Abraham.

"We utilize expert biologists, naturalists, and local First Nations guides to enable our guests to learn as much as possible about each Destination At Risk. A portion of the profits from our Destinations at
Risk trips is returned to initiatives that support the preservation of our environment."

By gracious invitation of the Git Ga'at First Nations Aurelia Adventures is offering one trip to the unique Great Bear Rainforest. This region, its people, and the bears have received national attention as the subject of several documentaries, articles and photographs, and will be featured soon in National Geographic Kids magazine.

Travellers will have the opportunity to meet elders of the band, and visit ancient cultural sites. They will journey by 65 ft. wooden sailboat into the region, and explore the area by zodiac, sea kayak, and on foot. Clear-cut logging and oil exploration initiatives threaten the region. Travellers will meet biologists,
environmentalists, and First Nations who are fighting to save this wilderness. A portion of the cost of the trip will be returned to the Raincoast Conservation Society.

Aurelia Adventures is a travel company based in Nelson, British Columbia.
